Billing policy
Choose a plan before using Totem.
Every workspace requires a current paid subscription unless Totem has explicitly granted an account exemption. Checkout, payment methods, invoices, and cancellation are managed through Stripe.
Effective October 12, 2026. Version 2026-10-12-paid-v3.
Paid subscriptions and usage
All prices are in US dollars. Personal Starter is $1 per month with 2,000 successful protected live actions; Personal Plus is $100 with 10,000; Personal Pro is $200 with 20,000. Business is $150 per month with 15,000 actions shared across the workspace; Business Plus is $450 with 45,000 shared actions. Additional actions on these plans cost $0.01 each ($10 per 1,000). Allowances reset each usage month and do not roll over. Existing Production and Scale subscriptions retain their agreed prices, intervals, allowances, and usage rates. Annual legacy subscriptions are charged in full up front and retain monthly usage allowances.
By accepting this policy and completing paid checkout, you authorize Stripe to charge the displayed recurring subscription and applicable usage charges to your payment method. New subscriptions renew monthly; existing annual subscriptions retain their agreed interval until canceled. Any applicable tax is displayed before payment. Payment details are entered on Stripe-hosted pages, not stored by Totem.
Only successful, unique protected actions are billable. Failed checks, sandbox actions, and duplicate reporting are not charged as protected production actions, but outside an explicit account exemption, sandbox and production product access both require a current paid subscription. Linked verification and execution of the same protected action count once. Usage estimates are provisional until the period is closed and reconciled. Reconciled usage above the included allowance is invoiced through Stripe separately from the base subscription. Adjustments and billing discrepancies are held for review before invoicing. Your billing page shows the underlying usage and invoices.
Payment confirmation and access
Returning from checkout does not by itself activate a plan. Totem waits for verified payment confirmation and grants access only for the paid coverage period. Pending or failed payments do not create free paid access. If paid coverage expires, production actions and paid-only tools stop; you can still log in to manage billing, recover payment, change the subscription, view invoices, or revoke existing access.
Plan and payment requirements are enforced by the server for both the dashboard and APIs. Changing plans does not delete your data. Product actions cannot resume until paid access is restored.
Cancellation, invoices, and questions
Owners and administrators can manage payment methods and view invoices through Stripe's customer portal. Open the portal from Totem's Billing page to schedule cancellation at the end of the paid period. Cancellation does not erase charges for protected actions already performed or itself issue a refund. The separate Refund Policy explains eligibility and the review process.
For a billing discrepancy, refund request, or change to an existing subscription's plan or interval, contact privacy@totemlayer.com with the organization name and invoice reference. Do not send card details, API keys, or other secrets. Any rights required by applicable law are unaffected.
This policy supplements the Terms of Service and Privacy Notice. A separately agreed written enterprise order controls any conflicting commercial terms.
